A few points here.
o The driving standards is a real problem in the BTCC circus for two reasons. Its tolerated by the officials - they can do something about it if they choose to. Second, with the exception of the Porsches and Formula Renault, perpetrating argy bargy is not consequenced by loss in performance.
o This latter point is one of the main reasons driving standards in karting have deteriorated as well. Nerfing somebody off at a corner will not lead to a risk of a skybound trip as it used to do in the days before bodywork. CoCs in karting have a more difficult job keeping an eye on all 25 of us at the same time circulating in close company around a postage stamp size track... so I can understand why some bad driving escapes unpunished. The root cause remains the same though - bad driving came with the introduction of bodywork.
o As for the Fords' performance. Remove their turbo and let them run with the same engine as everyone else. If they want to run fart fuel, they're welcome to, but the benefit in exposure will be ofset by a loss in performance. Contrived 'Equivalencing' with diesels, LPG etc... isn't working and never will.
