“As you one of the more thinking respondents, I'll bother to reply to you.” Thank you….although I expect everyone here is ‘thinking’, just they may not agree with you as often!
“Your answer is TRIPE and you KNOW it! You made your point PRETENDING that my argument was that the TT is TOO DANGEROUS to be allowed. That was NOT my challenge and you KNOW it! It may STILL be true but that is ANOTHER argument, entirely! You would have MUCH preferred if that WAS my argument becuase that one is MUCH easier for you to pretend to defend!” Hmmm….if I may quote…”If the TT can't be made SUBSTANTIALLY safer.... then YES, I WOULD ban it...”…from ITPRO.. Message.asp?FID=4&MsgID=0000444191 Forgive me, but I can’t see any OTHER way of interpreting that.
“The 'challenge' was NOT that the TT is TOO dangerous..... I have been careful NOT to use that argument!
My point is MUCH more subtle and it is that way because IT encapsulates the PROBLEM!!!! It is your (and other's) contradicting views on safety when it comes to MOTORBIKES when compared to ANYTHING ELSE that is the core of THIS discussion!
The TT is simply VASTLY more dangerous than those events/actions have ALREADY been accepted as being banned by YOU! To accept the TT at a level of safety BELOW the levels of safety for which YOU agree with the current ban is nothing short of.... DISGUSTING......”
Well….that’s funny….I don’t remember banning anything.
“Like others, you have accepted that Old Spa, Old Reims, Old Nurburgring, old Targa Florio, old LeMans, Old Aitree.... etc. etc., WERE too dangerous to be used..... however, you will do anything you CAN to state the SAME thing for the V*A*S*T*L*Y more LETHAL IoM 'track' (it's and JOKE to call it a "TRACK!"!!!!)”
Firstly..in reverse order…it is NOT a track…it’s a ROAD. That’s why it’s called ROAD RACING. The whole POINT of it is that it’s not a track. Secondly…Where do you get tha idea that “I” have accepted the bans you list above? You are WRONG! I support measures that improve the safety of non-participants in any sport..the participants make their own choices. I DO accept if the majority of competitors wich an event to be removed from a championship series, or similar, so that there is no ‘compulsion’, or pressure from team owners etc. to participate. Just as happened to the TT when it was removed from the motorcycle championship series. Even then, many of the riders of the day STILL competed, if their teams allowed them to.
“ I have ZERO doubt that you would OBJECT if Formula 1 drivers were allowed to make A CHOICE to run without SOME of those safety features even though it would ALSO be ENTIRELY THEIR CHOICE so to do.”
