As you one of the more thinking respondents, I'll bother to reply to you.

Your answer is TRIPE and you KNOW it! You made your point PRETENDING that my argument was that the TT is TOO DANGEROUS to be allowed. That was NOT my challenge and you KNOW it! It may STILL be true but that is ANOTHER argument, entirely! You would have MUCH preferred if that WAS my argument becuase that one is MUCH easier for you to pretend to defend!

The 'challenge' was NOT that the TT is TOO dangerous..... I have been careful NOT to use that argument!

My point is MUCH more subtle and it is that way because IT encapsulates the PROBLEM!!!! It is your (and other's) contradicting views on safety when it comes to MOTORBIKES when compared to ANYTHING ELSE that is the core of THIS discussion!

The TT is simply VASTLY more dangerous than those events/actions have ALREADY been accepted as being banned by YOU! To accept the TT at a level of safety BELOW the levels of safety for which YOU agree with the current ban is nothing short of.... DISGUSTING......

Like others, you have accepted that Old Spa, Old Reims, Old Nurburgring, old Targa Florio, old LeMans, Old Aitree.... etc. etc., WERE too dangerous to be used..... however, you will do anything you CAN to state the SAME thing for the V*A*S*T*L*Y more LETHAL IoM 'track' (it's and JOKE to call it a "TRACK!"!!!!)

Fewer people died while racing Formula 1 cars before (for a simple example) safe cockpit surround structures were made compulsory.

We COULD argue that the numbers on 'safe cockpit surround structures deaths' but there are PLENTY of other things which YOU would still support being required compulsorily from seat belts, Han devices, HELMETS, wheel tethers, Nomex, etc., etc., etc.. The list is VAST!

I have ZERO doubt that you would OBJECT if Formula 1 drivers were allowed to make A CHOICE to run without SOME of those safety features even though it would ALSO be ENTIRELY THEIR CHOICE so to do.

I also have ZERO doubt that you'd object to kart tracks being allowed to return SQUARE KERBS to the tracks, allow unprotected trees and concrete/stone walls to be added, or drivers choosing to race without suitable gloves, boots, seats, floor trays, padded steering wheels.... etc., etc., etc..... Again, the kart drivers would be making an ENTIRELY VOLUNTARY DECISION whether to compete or not.

I could create VAST lists, some of which you would contest BUT the MOST of which you'd ACCEPT......

However, you feel that it IS the right of people to decide to race on roads that are SO F***ING LETHAL THAT THEY KILL AT LEAST ONE RIDER EVERY DAMNED YEAR!!!!!

I know you and there is not a CHANCE IN HELL that you'd tolerate a track which killed a KARTER on EVERY OCCASSION IT IS USED! Do NOT pretend that you ARE that calous!

If a Football, Cricket, Golf, Tennis, Snooker, Darts, Hockey (etc., etc.) 'competion' (of the same scale as the TT) killed ONE player at EVERY event, you, like ALL decent human beings, would demand a CHANGE!!!!!! It simply would not be TOLERATED..... nor SHOULD it be!

If someone died at EVERY annual running of the Boxing Championships (e.g., the Olympics) you'd be with ME 'manning the barricades' to BLOCK such a barbaric waste of LIVES!

So....... tell me EXACTLY what it is SO SPECIAL about Bikers that you allow the more STUPID ones of them to risk their lives FOR *Y*O*U*R* P*L*E*A*S*U*R*E when you KNOW at least ONE of them will DIE on E*V*E*R*Y occasion that the event is RUN!

How can you be prepared to even CONSIDER watching it when you KNOW (not 'fear', nor 'suspect', not 'guess' but ......K*N*O*W) that at least ONE of the competitors W*I*L*L D*I*E every DAMNED TIME??????

.......I know VERY well what that reason is but I want you to STATE IT!!!!!!

Then we'll find the EXACT connection to my 'Gladiatoral' example, won't we!!!!!!!!

Things you would not TOLERATE at any OTHER sporting event are 'OK' in YOUR eyes for the TT! And THAT's called HYPOCRISY!

The TT IS 'special' to you lot and we ALL knows WHY!

Ian
