There is a possibility this time that Labour vote necessary to prop up some of these 'safe seats' will collapse. I think [hope] that common sense will prevail among these people and they will not vote for a Labour government that's shafted them so badly. The question then becomes, what will they do ?
o They are unlikely to vote Tory on principle, but I wonder have they got the message that anything other than a Tory vote will return Labour. o They may vote LibDem... though for the reasons above that may also be unlikely. o They could go fringe and vote for one of the smaller parties... even the BNP [God help us]. o They may not vote at all - a likely possibility.
So, if you're in a safe Tory seat, then its true your vote will have little effect this time around. But if you're in a safe Labour seat, I think it may well have an effect.
