Wellllll..... that's a bit wierd..... we are ONLY talking about 'numbers'! It's only the YOUNG who are moaning and they are ONLY about the numbers!
Start taking REAL numbers and you'll see the point. Lets's take your concept and work with some figures. Let's make insurance FREE for the first year for new drivers and charge a £1,000 premium for those who haven't had acciedents in the second year weighting the reminder onto those who HAVE.
For 10 drivers, the 'correct' premium would be £3,500 PA each....so that's 35,000 pa. Assuming drivers turn out to be like YOUR friends; then 50% of them would be paying £1000 and the others would pick up the REST of the costs. The 'good 5' would be paying £5,000 towards the costs and THAT would leave THIRTY THOUSAND to be spread amongst the 'bad 5'.... that's SIX THOUSAND POUNDS PER YEAR....... E*A*C*H..... Do you think some simply could NOT afford that.....?
Let's change that to be more realistic. Let's assume that only ONE of the ten is a 'bad' driver... that would mean 9 would pay £1,000 leaving that 'singular bad driver' to pay....... wait for it...... take a deep breath...... TWENTY SIX THOUSAND A YEAR......
..... so..... at what point do 'bad drivers' find it IMPOSSIBLE to pay and give up driving...... leaving the insurance companies with 9 customers paying £1,000 .....but... £26,000 short of their COSTS ..... from EVERY 10 Young drivers!
They now have 2 choices: spread the costs amongst the remaining 9..... or pass them on to us oldies who have not had an accident in DECADES!
*********************************
It's time you did one of two things:-
1) Accept reality: Kiddies MUST pay more because, on average, they are CR*P drivers and, what's worse.... they THINK they are the BEST drivers!
2) Prove me WRONG and take over Quinns and run it YOUR way!
