Harv, do you live in Surrey by any chance ? Assuming you do, then like myself [I live the opposite side of the Thames], you don't have a problem living and working without a car. In metropolitan London we're spoilt with a strong economy and a pervasive public transport system. Large parts of this Kingdom aren't so fortunate and a large number of people would have no way of getting from where they live to where they work without being able to drive there in a car. A bit of a problem that when you're forbidden to drive.
... and another point. Have you thought about how your food gets to your local Tescos there in Surrey ? Well you'll never guess what... it doesn't come by rail, tram or bus... it actually comes by van and truck. Yes, they'd be the kind of vehicles that need to be driven by somebody. Somebody who is not forbidden to drive.
Have I made you any madder now... !
