Ok if we are being serious about all this what you can do , is fit a system which many families in the USA use , basically a GPS data logger that records when where and what a car was doing , this is issued to the family to fit in the car from the insurance and does seem to help .

They get a lower insurance premium as a result ,and are aware that either the insurance company or their parents via a web login can see what they are up to at any time .

We use GPS tracking on our engineers vehicles at work and it certainly has changed the way they behave.
