No, it isn't obvious! I can't recall seeing a F1 car catch fire after a shunt for at least 20 years, whereas there have been loads of pit-lane fires since then. Why would 50 gallons be more likely to catch fire than 25 gallons if it cant get to anything hot? Fuel tank technology is one area where things have massively improved since the "old days".
