Hi there, (I assume aka `newbie sunderland`)
There are really probably only three classes you could choose from at Warden Law, since there is no gearbox karting there.
1/ Formula Blue...and that would be a doubt, because the class is very `regionalised`, big in the South West, decent in Scotland and good grids at Three Sisters and Hooton Park (and possibly Glan-y-Gors) but don`t know if they run at W/L
2/ Rotax Max......the most popular of the MSA classes at the present time, I am sure there will be a grid of this class at W/L......like F.Blue its a TAG class (touch and go)on board push button start 125cc water cooled.
3/ TKM Extreme.....not as popular as it once was, but still active at a number of tracks, not sure about W/L, used to have a regular grid of 30 at Three Sisters a few years ago, now it is defunct there, so that tells you. Loved by the purists, (there does tend to be a bit of a Rotax v TKM lobby on here, despite what some of the more experienced posters will tell you). A budget class, cheaper than Rotax and Blue, also slower, direct drive, which means a push start, or clutched, for which you will require an external starter (and ideally, a friend to operate for you whilst you sit in the kart)
Like Ian says, you need to find out when W/L run meetings, it will nearly always be the same weekend each month, and go along to at least three meetings, ask plenty of questions, 99.9% of karters are only too pleased to pass on advice to newcomers, but a word of advice, try to ask most of your questions on the practice day (Saturday) rather than race day (Sunday), race day can be much more intense, whereas practice is more relaxed.
Decide it from there, after 3 meetings (and lots of questions), you should have a clear picture of what you fancy racing, or, if you don`t fancy or can`t afford to race, ALL clubs welcome helpers, in the shape of marshalls, lapscorers, observers, etc, etc,
