It is for weight distribution, i used to go a lot with my brother when zytek were building the engines for Roger Dowson Racing and that horrible looking pink and yellow mazda urghhh, Patrick Watts was the driver at the time and i used to talk to him loads and i asked him this exact question, some cars distribution is better RHD but for most LHD is better, remember him mentioning something about engine/gearbox layout plays a big part
