I am not missing your point! I see it plain as the nose on my face when I look in the mirror.

I fully agree that Jenson is a very worthy 2009 champion! He was the best over the course of the season!

As you say, he won fair and square without putting anyone in to the barriers, no lying, no cheating and no team orders. Not sure where you were going with that one, but agreed never the less!

I can see that you disagree with my view that Jenson did fall to pieces and I fully accept that you are entitled to your own opinion! MY opinion is the contrary!

What I struggle to comprehend is your view that Lewis fell to pieces, yet Jenson didn’t! You use the phrase Jenson 'tensed up' which in my view is a kinder way of putting 'fell to pieces'! Agreed I would more than likely too if I was going for my first F1 world championship (dream on!).

Compare Jenson’s 1st half of the season to his second. Add the points up. Compare percentages for the two halves of the season (I am sad... I have done this!). Jenson scored 106% MORE points (over DOUBLE!!!) from Australia (round 1) to Turkey (round 7) than he did from the point at which I see he 'fell to pieces' (mainly poor qualifying positions), Silverstone (round 8) to Abu Dhabi (round 17). This is even being kind to Jenson, as round 7 is not quite half way through the season!

Yes the Mclarens, Ferraris and Red Bulls got stronger throughout the season and took points off him. But even in the latter stages there was the European grand prix at Valencia where Rubens won (so the car was up to the job) and Jenson ended up 7th!

Your point that he only lost 8 points to Vettel and actually GAINED 2 points on Barrichello and 5 points on Webber pretty much validates my point that his rivals did not capitalise on his poor performances even further! Aside from Italy (second to his team mate) his results were 5th, 8th, 5th and 3rd, with that 3rd coming after the pressure of the championship being lifted because he'd already won it! With those results and the largest gain on him over those five races was 8 points by Vettel, this kind of justifies my point would you not agree? If not I would LOVE to hear why!

Compare Jenson’s second half of 2009 (when he won the championship) with Lewis' second half 2007 (when he DIDNT win the championship). Taking the same 'round 8' for consistency, Lewis outscored Jenson (in the two respective seasons) by 51 points to 34 points. That 50% MORE points over the second half of the season!

I now ask HOW Lewis DID 'crumble', yet Jenson DIDN'T!

Just for the record I will re-iterate that it is my view that BOTH felt the pressure and crumbled. Lewis' rivals took full advantage of his poor results, Jenson’s did not! Hence Jenson WON the championship when he crumbled, and Lewis did NOT!
