We don't agree. You equate Alonso to Schumacher. If you do it on the basis of the BOTH being Prima Donnas, then YES...... however, find an F1 driver who is NOT!
However, find Alonso's matching events to Michael's 'high points': ramming Hill, Villneuve, parking ON THE TRACK (in a dangerous place) at Monaco, KNOWINGLY running a car with traction control when he KNEW it was illegal, conspiring with Todt and FIAt and the FIA to RIG the results....... the list is ENDLESS. Alonso is NOT a 'good guy' in a 'white hat' but he is NOT as bad as Michael.
...... and you REALLY think he expected to arrive at Mclaren as World Champ and have a NOVICE given BETTER treatment than him......?
How can you PRETEND he WASN'T given better treatment? The CLASSIC line was when Ron Dennis was asked about a Hamilton race win in that year and he said: '[on the day] ....the only person who could beat us was Alonso....'
Note the WORDS..... he said '....could beat US....'. The 'us' referred to 'Ron and Lewis', that clearly shows that Ron thought of the Alonso side of the team as THEM!!! It also shows that Alonso was NOT counted by Ron as 'US'!
Remember, after Lotus..... my team has ALWAYS been Ron Dennis and Mclaren.....
If YOU were World Champ and were expected to WIN in that year too (which, you'll note, he only failed to do by ONE point with IDENTICAL PITS SCORE to Lewis....after a DISATEROUS start to the season while Lewis was being treated as GOD by you and the REST of the British media) but YOU were treated as an 'outsider' by your team in favour of a NOVICE...... how would YOU have behaved...... Alonso did what we ALL would have done: behaved EQUALLY badly!
