I think many of you underestimate Michael. I don't like the bloke as I don't like cheats but I do 'respect' him.

I can't see why you don't like Alonso, either. Firstly, he's the ONLY person who has BEATEN Michael and he's done it twice already!

Secondly, his problems at Mclaren were spectacular but how would YOU have reacted if YOU had arrived as World Champion and World Champion elect to find that the team were giving ALL the support to a NOVICE???? Alonso didn't handle the situation correctly but he did no less than 99% of the REST of us would have done and CERTAINLY no worse than any OTHER Prima Donna F1 driver would have done! Christ, other drivers of NO talent have reacted as badly when they have NEVER had the success of Alonso and thus had no RIGHTS to feel 'hard-done-by'!

Please note that I am NOT saying Alonso was RIGHT to behave like that but, while I am not 100% perfect, I can still understand my OWN faults in others! Only when I become truly faultless will I feel smug enough to blame ANYONE for that behaviour!

Michael's straight CHEATING (ramming Hill, ramming Villeneuve, parking in Monaco etc., etc.,) are NOT things I would have done so I CAN feel 'holier than thou' enough to call HIM a cheat!

Anyway.... this is shaping up to be a SPECTACULAR year.... so long as Ex FIAt Man (Todt) and the rest of the FIA CROOKS don't meddle TOO much with the results. However, THIS time, Alonso won't have to take on Michael A*N*D FIAt to win the championship!
