My passport expired late 2009, and I was just going to apply for another, at a cost of, I think, Ł70+

But a few moments ago, I just received some standard mail stuff on NIC....

Never really thought about or looked at these before, but it says they act as a passport for EEC countries and Switzerland.

I appreciate that this is somewhat limited, but since my travelling is restricted to EEC countries, and like a passport, these last for 10 years, would it be better to save myself Ł40+ and obtain one of these for Ł30 instead of a passport?

Any thoughts?
