Well yes, every single major decision always creates someone who wins financially. But that isn't a reason not to do something. If we had another war against someone do you think we should consider the extra business that armour manufacturers get as a legitimate reason not to go to war?

That example sounds like a issue you can bring up with your council. It's not like that down where I am, have you actually complained about it to anyone? Driving less will clearly reduce CO2, you can't argue with that surely? Your issue is just with the Bus company.

If we're assuming that CC exists, then you are asking how can we achieve it?

- Driving less/ use public transport
- More efficient energy sources
- Developing more efficient car/aeroplane engines
- Recycling all things. Especially aluminium.
- Planting more trees
- Driving at lesser speeds (or, to be reasonable, stick to the limits)

Plus anything else you can think of to cut CO2. There are lots of things you can do.
