I'm with you, Rich.... except you called football a 'sport'.... which it ISN'T!

Firstly, football people call it the 'beautiful game'. Yes, I KNOW how bizarre THAT is but THEY call it a GAME!

Secondly, our very languange tells us the truth. We all know that you PLAY games but you DO sports! You 'PLAY tennis', you 'PLAY cricket', you 'PLAY tiddly-winks'. However, you "DO motor-racing', you 'DO bull fighting', you 'DO mountain-climbing'. Games are things you PLAY.... not DO!

As we can see, motor-racing, mountain-climbing and bull-fighting are all SPORTS as we 'do' them (and a very small number of other REAL 'sports').

You PLAY football so it's in the group of games like hop-scotch and tiddy-winks.....
