Probably the best advice anyone will get. I wonder how many people looking to get into motor racing have actually considered exactly what they want to do (or even if such a position exists)? How many have taken the first steps and contacted potential future employers for factory tours, gone to test days etc? How many people have built up a network of people involved in motor racing?
I'd imagine most want to be involved in the actual "racing" bit, but your job soon becomes like any other with the inconvenience of unsociable working hours and the loss of a hobby. The "glitz" really is very superficial and any illusion of such is eroded very quickly. It's amazing how many people are in love with the "idea" of going racing and not the reality.
