Like every occupying force that's ever tried its hand at that place, we will be chased out of Afghanistan with our tails between our legs having suffered the incalculable loss of great many of our valiant and highly talented British military.
I do agree that South Asia is a nuclear equipped bubbling cauldron at the moment, but the 'nation building' military campaign that the allies [mainly US] are currently undertaking in Afghanistan is not addressing that problem at all.
But that's nothing whatsoever to do with the terrorist threat to Britain and America. Its very sad that the governments of both countries choose to draw on this as a reason for what they're up to out in South Asia. As with almost all terrorist threats over the years, they originate from within a country - IRA, Baader Meinhof, Basque Separatists, Mafia, Brigate Rossa etc... and this is no different. Politically insensitive as this may be... the Islamic extremist terrorist threat to this country needs to be tackled head on at source and that's here in the UK I'm afraid.
