My God what a pile of steaming shlt Matt and Nicky have written here. I honestly can't believe I'm reading it.
o I have been made redundant on three occasions in my life. All three cases were a result of consolidation following acquisition. Businesses merge, fail, acquire one another etc... That's a fact of life. I was paid for the work I did when I was employed and when my employment finished I had to find another job... and I did. Was I bullied ? Of course not. The businesses I worked for do not owe me anything beyond what the law prescribes - my salary and my redundancy and that's it. Anyone who believes that their employer owes them something else has a problem.
o Matt these posties chose to do the job they do. They're not coerced into it. If they wish to do the GBP15K admin job, they are very welcome to seek one of those... there are plenty about. Oh by the way, they don't come with a final salaried pension or a gilt edged guarantee. And if you think a postie has it tough... how about telling that to a member of our armed forces. They get even less, have to work hours that would make a posties overtime calculator burn out... oh and they also risk their lives and die. If a postie doesn't like what he does he has a choice - he can leave.
