it is a unknown at best, so doesnt hurt to prepare with common sense, common sense that doesnt rely on the powers to be

workforce sickness may mean:

the power goes off, how will you provide useable light for your house and family

that also takes out the heating, same question

the supermarkets dont have staff or supplies, how long will the food in your house last, dont forget fresh water

the effects of swine flu or anything like it are the not so much the affected but how it affects services we believe will always be there, other cultures understand the need to be less supported by "powers to be" and rely more on themselves for the basics, shelter, water and food, we use to be good at it but have been fooled into believeing the basics will always be there, flick of a switch, turn of a tap
