Some people are now refusing to show up at work for fear of contracting it. Its interesting to see peoples' reaction to this at close quarters.

I imagine that a lot more people have had swine flu than is reported in the media so its hard to get a gauge on the true spread of the pandemic nor the real consequences of the virus. If we imagine 5 to 10 times as many people have had it, then clearly the mortality rate is a lot lower than is being reported.

Its very difficult to know really, but one thing we can be certain of is that health service will be overwhelmed by peoples' hysteria to this thing. That will lead to restricted access to medical attention for those who really need it... and that will consequently lead to more deaths than should occur.
