We must be about the same age Vic, I remember staying up for the landing as well, and other memorable first's of the era,Sir Francis Chichester sailing single handed non-stop around the world in Gypsy Moth etc;

As for the technology,it's estimated by some IT pros that the average medium size company has as much "power" in it's offices as NASA had at Mission Control and the average PC at home is faster,higher memory and more reliable than the ones that were on board the rockets themselves.

I was expecting holidays on the Moon by my age when I was a kid,come on Branson pull your finger out !
