How do I put this politely?
Try re-reading what I wrote and THEN re-reading what YOU wrote and then see if YOU can work out exactly HOW you have put that completely 'a*se about face'!
There's currently a TV trailer where a hero, with his gallant band, is proposing a toast, as follows:-
"Death to Oppression!
Whereupon, his gallant band reply:
"To Oppression!"
... the hero thinks for a moment and howls:-
"..... no, No NO!. That's the exact REVERSE of what I was proposing......."
Doink, you know, you'd make a good member of the 'gallant band'......
I'll make it easier for you. I am saying that simply BECAUSE a person does something wrong and can RECOGNISE it, that does NOT ban them from holding the opinion that THEY were wrong to do it! It also does NOT preclude them from changing the error of their ways when they have THOUGHT IT THROUGH! I am also saying that it does not stop them from KNOWING that OTHERS (and themselves) are in the wrong for CONTINUING to do it!
Put more simply: there were occasions when I came in pretty certain I was under the weight limit at Rye (in the 1970s). Rye used to weigh you in a covered area. Those of us over 5'6" knew that IF we kept our helmets on while being weighed, we could press our helmets against the centre beam of the roof and 'adjust' our 'weight'. (The Karting midgets.... they knew who they were.... used to cheat by having their mechanics shake their hand after the race and 'palm'; them a block of lead in the process!). Does that preclude me from he following and, if so, WHICH items:-
1) Knowing that I WAS probably cheating? 2) Knowing that OTHERS were doing the same CHEATING? 3) Knowing that cheating (by me and/or anyone ELSE) is WRONG? 4) Wanting to see EVERYBODY (including ME) being prevented from that same cheating, today?
The principle is SIMPLE! Even some current MPs are quite able to see that 'pilferring' is WRONG.... even if THEY have been doing it!
Can't you see that, if that was NOT the case, then there isn't a SOUL ON THIS PLANET who can EVER 'have an opinion' on ANY 'sin' as most of us have committed MANY of each in our lives!
