That says almost all you need to know! So long as you use a level of force which APPEARED to be appropriate, you are OK. Even if the intruder has a knife and you have a gun; so long as it was REASONABLE for you to assume that, WITHOUT using the gun, he would have tried to KILL you with the knife, then you are FULLY entitled to BLOW THE ****ER'S HEAD OFF!
