in which Hamilton says he was misled by his race manager or to put it bluntly, 'when they ask you whether you were told by us to let Trulli back past your answer Lewis is NO.'
In this interview he said that discussion took place seconds before they went in to see the stewards and if that's true then I can see but not condone, why he might have gone along with it.
Or, he could have one of those conscience moments where he says 'no - I'm going to tell the truth' in which case Trulli gets reinstated and Hamilton stays 4th and we don't talk about it.
I don't think there's any doubt that the initial decision to omit certain facts came from McLaren management so they are guilty as charged and stupd beyond belief.
Whether Hamilton was a willing accomplice or someone acting under pressure is irrelevant because for most fans and particularly those anti to McLaren and Hamilton, this is like grist to the mill for them.
I suspect the guy suspended will come back in a few weeks/months time and Hamilton will not be suspended for the season/race etc.
His stock value has gone down but in a sport like F1 where winning appears to count for everything at the expense of everything else - then it's amazing how short memories will be!
I just can't understand why they thought they'd get away with it. Everyone heard the pit to driver commentary and for McLaren to pretend they didn't instruct Hamilton to do something knowing it would probably come to light - is imcomprehensible.
