So I must go back to the original suggestion of opening the airport icon and going to 'other networks' and choosing the 'unlocked' router.

I've now tried this extensively with every MMMM!mac that passes through the workshop just for you, to see if I can find one with your problem. (NO, they're not fauly, just upgrades and s/ware install!)
