come on Ian, you CAN use USB 2 devices perfectly well in USB 1 slots, they just run at USB 1.

Re the Packard Bell.

I have actually got the D-Link device to work but just listen to this! And it is the truth.

While trying to install the D-link usb wireless device, fresh out of the box, my laptop went BSOD and kept recycling its boot up.

When I booted into safe mode I found that the Packard Bell had installed the D-Link onto my laptop and was conflicting with another device, MY wireless Sagen device!

How in God's name could it install over the network which is secured with a password, when I hadn't managed to get to the stage of installing the D-Link on the Packard Bell?

Once I removed the driver from my laptop it worked ok again.

It raises serious security doubts when a machine can install and obviuosly access another machine wirelessly on a supposed secure network.

I had at this point disconnected the unsecured D-link router I used to try the Macs for you so it couldn't have got in via that.

Wierdest thing I've ever seen.
