That's a DAFT argument, Dave.

Secondl;y, I could have picked ANY 'family murderer' where the (for example) husband kills the wife (or vice versa). They are thus VERY unlikely to kill a 'third' party (unles they marry again, of course.....) and thus, by YOUR logic, it's a waste of time persuing tjhose cases as they won't do it again.

Similarly, there was NO point in persuing the BrinksMat robbers. They made SO much money they would never NEED to do it again. And then there's Nick Leeson.....

In ALL these cases, they anihilate your claim....

Your assumeption about HOW much of a drop is also ludicrous. When I started 'My' campaign, here, the death rate was 3,500 oer annum. It's now down to 2,950 (I am NOT claiming I am anything to do with that drop). Whatever the cause, there are 500 (each year) or so who are alive today who WOULD not have been WITHOUT this 'safety push'. If 1/3rd were speed related, it's wirth EVERY penny..... simply because it's MORONS who are too THICK to see speed cameras (they are bl**dy great YELLOW things!). Whta a PERFECT system. The criminals PAY to be caught... what a PERFECT example of JUSTICE!

Drivers are NOT 100% monitored for speeding. I have driven (for example) from home to KENT today and have not passed a SINGLE speed camera. I suspect I can get from MY house to YOUR house without passing a camera, too! You are being SILLY again!

However, if there WAS a road side 'Drink Detector' which COULD detect drivers who have exceeded the DD limit (i.e., a Gatso for Drink Detection) just STATE that you would NOT want it to be used.....

I know JUST as well as YOU do that you WOULD want it implemented... Why? Because YOU don't drink and drive and YOU know DD is STUPID. However, you are NOT convinced that Speeding (per se) is dangerous (wrongly) and you would CONSIDER speeding. That's the REAL difference....

However, when we were kids, we (probably) BOTH held the view that the breathalyser was WRONG! Time has educated me on this matter and I trust it has for YOU too! It will do EXACTLY the same for speeding, too....
