...and PRECISELY how much reduction ('change in that number') in murders occured by the HUGE expenses of the Rachel Nickell, Ripper, West, Hindley, etc. investigations????

If they had not been caught, they may have gone on to kill hundreds more - theres no telling. Catching them was worth every penny!

Secondly, how much of the DROP from 3500 per year to 2950 has been CAUSED by the semi-rigorous anti-speed campaign of recent years

Probably none - some or all of it may be due to improvements in vehicle safety, or it may prove to be a temporary blip in the figures.

Thirdly, how come the EXACT same approach has WORKED for drink-driving,

Ermmm....you've lost me there - what approach? Drivers are not 100% monitored for drink driving in the way they are for speeding!

I've answered your points, now answer my question: If you are as concerned by loss of life on the road as you claim, why are you not driving around at a speed that would make it virtually impossible for you to kill somebody?
