Most of the rest, I REALLY didn't understand....

You seem to be implying the way to REDUCE congestion is to make the REMOVE the speed limits! That is SO bonkers I hardly know where to begin.

First, ALL the statistics will show you (if you BOTHER to look at them) that SLOWER flowing queues of traffic move MORE cars FASTER than FAST moving traffic. Problems arise when a FEW casr try to maintain the highest speeds... they caue BUNCHING which it what STARTS traffic jams when the traffic vlume is HIGH! Why? Becasue:-

a) Cars travelling slower travel CLOSER together and thus the FLOW is greater! The ESAIEST example is the A14 (yet again). Since cars have STOPPED exceeding 70mph, there have been LESS traffic jams.... not JUST becasue there have been LESS accidents but because the flow has become more UNIFORM!

b) Your logic would imply that the BEST way to cure a traffic jam would be for ONE person to attempt 250mph in the MIDDLE of it!

Give me STRENGTH......
