I haven't read the rest of this thread but I always find it funny when people who don't understand macs slag them off, and almost feel sorry that they don't understand quite why macs are SO much better and will make your life easier.

If you must run Windows use parallels or something and run it faster than you seem to be able to on comparable PCs.

Yeah they cost more initially, but for a student there are actually some pretty sweet deals, plus it will still be fast a year/3 years after you bought it, more than you can say for 90% of PCs.

They have incomparable support, better designed everything (soft and hardware), my iTunes with 8000+ songs loads in less than 10 seconds, so clearly it is not the software. They are so much more user friendly, better looking, don't require you to run bloated antivirus software, I won't go on.
