An additional 60 bhp for about 6 seconds! That seems to be enough reason for ANY team to want to use it!

I suspect that the additional mass and the odd reactions of 'gyroscopes' would explain why most teams have gone for 'electrical' as a system. However, those have ALREADY delivered a knockout blow to ONE poor mechanic!
