Ian there's loads of companies that write bespoke programs for Macs simply because they are SO good at grass cutting and simulating paperweights.
Macs can read your drives, PC's just go DUH?
The best one I had yesterday was a PC not booting saying no operating system.
Nothing wrong with the pc but the stupid thing kept trying to boot to a memory stick that was up its bum.
I use the Macs for recovering data from pc hard drives that are not even RECOGNISED in a pc, let alone attempt to boot.
This is neccessary when Microsoft throws the dummy out, which is very often.
At this very moment I have 3 firewire, 4 usb, 2 SATA 1 MFM and 2 2 1/2" drives from pc's on the Mac.
All being recovered.
I have a FINE LAWN.........So keep of my grass and keep your gadgy 'ole PC's.
