Steve I’m only teasing, you’re a Mac fan boy and if they work for your requirements, then that’s great.
When it comes down to a choice of style over substance, I’m with Kai and Chris in choosing the substance of a PC, a Mac simply can’t do what’s needed.
The company I used to work for learnt the hard and expensive way with Macs. If any component on them fails they are completely buggered, even if they are sent back to Apple only limited repair is possible due to the integrated design. When they broke out of warranty we used them for doorstops or self supports, no joke!
Chris, I guess to properly appreciate your artworks they need to be seen in the flesh at full size, so I can understand your frustration when some people see the shrunk down copies on the web and think they are just a Photoshop filter effect. The industry standard for studio software on both PC and Mac is Pro Tools and for music production CuBase and Reason, on Mac it’s Logic.
It made me chuckle when Alanrr complained about automatic scheduled installation of updates on Vistsa. That’s the karting equivalent of not knowing you need to put oil in the fuel, but when the Vista kart is clever enough to add the oil for you, he complains that he can’t drive the kart at the same time that the kart is adding the oil for him.
It is basic knowledge that if you don’t want this to happen, turn off automatic updates an install them manually when convenient. Unfortunately a user without this basic knowledge ends up blaming the system for attempting to automatically protect itself and its user.
