Absolutely, it certainly looks like he was putting himself under pressure to perform, when you have limited experience and certainly in a competition like the Autumn trophy you need to go for it.
He was hanging around quite a bit in 4th/5th and looked solid but either got tangled up in someone elses incident or got a rush of blood to the head (god knows i'm guilt of that too!)
Give him a couple of years to settle and I think he'll be up there if the funds are still available.
The only reason i mentioned him having to figure out how to drive a car is because he had an off where it looked like he'd locked the rear up on a downshift and maybe he needs to practice heel and toeing - it's an art form that maybe the younger drivers coming through dont get to master early enough as they don't drive on public road or get exposed to much driving with a clutch/gearbox.
It took me months of practising on the road before being able to do it smoothly, it's absolutely essential in the wet, especially on rear wheel drive cars.
