David..... but that has been MY point for ages, TOO!

Even if we are WRONG and global warming is NOT happening or we are NOT the cause of it.... then we GAIN from developing 'alternative fuels' and/or better use of the fuels we HAVE to use. WHATEVER happens, we WILL run out of oil and it looks like being SOONER rather than later and anything we learn from REDUCING fuel use will be a BENEFIT!

I just happen to believe that we ARE partially the cause of GW and thus we kill two birds with one stone!

Now.... suggest a BETTER way of promoting fuel-efficiency or 'clean fuel use' than making CURRENT fuels more expensive to use! The REASON we have such a HUGE worldwide clamouring for 'alternatives' is BECAUSE of the prices rises!

Currently, fossil fuel is/has-been TOO cheap to allow the alternatives to be VIABLE, financially. Raise the fossil fuel prices and the alternatives become VERY attractive inDEED..... and we'll GET them!! We'll get a cut in fossil fuel use we BOTH want and I'll get MY reduction in CO2 (and other gases) reductions!

So long as we BOTH want the same thing (alternatives and efficiencies), why does it matter WHY we want that????
