note I used the word "against" and not "into" !......yes Jeff, you may induce some whiplash injuries with your method!
yes 2500rpm is max engagement rpm in the regs, as a guide you want the engagement speed just before max torque, which for most GX160 engines is around the 3000rpm mark, so 2500rpm is a good starting point, I would avoid any engagement speeds below 2000rpm.
I will say it again, magnum/premier clutches slip really really badly, they are so poorly engineered......the clutch options on the market are huge and give much more on-track speed than a BIG motor......clutches cost only 10's-100's of pounds......BIG motors cost many 1000's of pounds.....simple really
