Andy, admitting the engines will not be equal is admitting that buying enough engines will always give some the edge.
Offer anyone on the grid an edge and they will obviously take the advantage offered. Hey isn't that how sp's started...
You ask when was the last time a diy'ers engine was at the front of a race... The racer that laps the valves is the diy'er you look for. This sealed engine idea stops that dead. No more simple prep, no more taking a pride in engineering skill.
You didn't address the point that seals stop you maintaining the valve seat seal. Do you really want to continually send engines away for such a basic task?
Some prokarters moan about being given a box of bits after scrutineering but you are all buying into a money pit of seal work/bills/rebuilds at the tuner.
The travelling dyno idea is flawed for the answer given earlier. Did I pick up that the travelling dyno will only be at certain meetings? Doesn't that encourage fast qualifying engines?
If the drivers are to make a choice they need all questions clearing up and not being drip fed info.
I do not present my arguments to derail any series. I just tell it as I see it.
Have I got anything positive to say about the series? If this whole debacle has allowed people to realise there are others around who resist monopolies and publish reasons to resist the money pit that is sealed engines, then I guess that is a big positive.
