As colin says, although we have a HP limit on the karts, thats just political crap from the MSA as (put crudely) no 4stroke under MSA regulations can have more than 30hp... bollu**s to that! There's always rumours going round the paddock about who's running what, who's not running what etc etc but at the end of the day, were all having fun when were out on track, and id say the big thing comes down to just simply what tyres your running on. Everyone up the front is on the sticky whites (apart from one Mr Hollywood who seems to be able to chuck any old rubbish on his kart and still pull from me through the corners!)
My engines tuned to match the fastest guy on the circuit, thats done, and there's a video of me and Mr Taig and you can see were equal along the straights, the differences are just when either one of us buggers up a corner haha Now i can concentrate on reliability (cambelt) and chassis tuning.
Lee isn't it? (I think thats what Stephan said) Now i don't want to ruffle any feathers but the Biland is far superior to the EcoMoto. But at the end of the day, accidents happen, and when it does and you have a spin, just as the EcoMoto has a little cough and a splutter and it conks out, your race is over. With the biland, push a button and your off again. Been there, done that! More than once....
With regards to the weight... I'm 82kg without any gear on... And i still managed a podium on 4 of the 6 races i competed in... I dont know if you've ever been to an F6 meeting, i did before and instantly you know its a lot of fun, nothing like a rotax club meeting. Were all having a laugh and a joke and that even extends out to when we're racing.
Pick an engine, join the club, you'll never turn back!
Hope this helps, Thomas.................
