Marcus - Are you trying to wind me up?? It was 51.6 and everything was perfectly legal.
Gordon - you missed my second post.... it was a Solo (build by Dartford Karting) and I had tried all sorts of things to get it to work, finally landing on wide rear track with everything stiff at the rear and loose at the front with low ride height and low tyre pressures. The tyres were YDS but had done one previous meeting - I just think everything came together on the day and with a tow from Ollie Giardino and a spot on lap I just pipped everyone else - the lap record was broken a few times that day before I took it to 51.5
The kart fell apart at Le Mans in 2010; I had it welded and sleeved and now it handles more like a normal prokart on YDS tyres. It felt better in practice at Le Mans last year than my 10 years younger Biz.....
