The MSA nearly killed Honda Cadet completely around 2003/4 requiring all motors to be sealed by a single company that couldn't tune a radio. Accordingly consistency was less then awful.
I don't see this being anywhere near the same issue. We have the benefit of RPM and others that can produce consistently good motors and so long as the restrictor is consistent in tolerance then the racing should still be close - a little slower, yes but close.
I don't quite get the whole mixed grid thing and if clubs want to equalise the classes in an attempt to run a libre grid then surely it will be a "time will tell" position until the Iame motor has actually been raced a good few times against the Honda and Comer. Otherwise race Honda with Honda and remove the variable completely.
