"practically impossible to find a T1 motor now" and that is why the T2 motor should be allowed to be very slightly more powerful that the T1. If the best T1 SP motors continue to be better than any of the new T2 motors their value will go through the roof over the next few years. It will be a disaster if in 2 years time it is essential to have an obsolete T1 engine to win.

Having said that I would expect the T2 engines to improve as the engine builders get more experience of them. For the good of the sport I certainly hope so.

Of course in the Cadet classes all of this is subject to whatever restrictions may or may not be placed on the GX160 in 2013 to ensure the new IAME is faster. Another big can of worms.....
