Pre-Arks at Thruxton is ok to get him used to the kart or if you need to put time on a motor but you will rarely find anyone else there.

You can still practice at Forest or Clay with a GX200.

Dependent on his birthday (and size) he can do cadets next year in which case you may want to look at newer engine and chassis, other wise just use it to gain him some experience.

If you want to try a Junior-Subaru then speak to them as they can bring one to Forest or Clay for you to try.
