This seems to be a storm in a teacup; racing at Teeside has always been fair. First corner incidents are a part of racing, a group of adrenalin filled petrol-heads wanting to win at the first corner with cold tyres & unknown grip. A good starter can make 4 or 5 places, that’s what its all about. Teeside has been running that way, successfully for years. To quote an old phrase “if it an’t broke don’t try to fix it”. I have raced there for 4 seasons, have made up many first corner places, been booted off more than once & I admit I have caused 1 or 2 as well. That’s racing Running of the back straight would be far worse, a very fast near-flat bend, straight into 2 tight hair-pins??????
