I still think it would be a good idea to cut into the deal the engines of the 'purchaser', or at least have an option on it. It would ensure no one goes home without motors, at least allowing them to run in another event which may be close.

The first come first served basis is slighty flawed because how do you prevent a group of friends 'buying' each others engines and so keeping them within there group, maybe not even doing the proper deal? Would it be better the person finishing closest in the final gets the 1st choice?
