http://www.karting.co.uk/Notice/Message.asp?FID=2&MsgID=0000481619 : I don’t believe I broke the rule then, and I won’t break it now. :)
Colin is right: why would you spend all that money on an exceptional engine and then proceed to castrate it – especially when you can race it in its own series? Yes, there would bureaucratic obstacles to joining F6, but ultimately there’s just no market for doing that.
The bit about castration probably also applies to modern VT250s: why spend about £3100 on a new Swissauto or about £3500 on a new Tech F1 when you would then have to go and cut its power for F6 anyway? Better off with said £500 Ecomoto or a Biland.
So I don’t understand the point of your question, Thomas? What do you drive and race now, or what are you planning to get and race?
Incidentally, there’s a good VT250+Wankel (separate grids) race series in Benelux – all engines in their respective standard spec and all karts with front brakes. I shall be checking it out directly very soon. The tracks are after all very easy to reach if you’re based in southeast England or thereabouts. Anyone interested in more info drop me a PM.
