The trouble is this has been going on for years in all classes, with all tyre manufactures .
I remember plenty of occasions splashing the cash on a new set of bridgestones YDS at PF expecting to find a tenth of two, but instead instantly lost half a second which was a joke when I compared the level of wear on my old worn out set.
You cant really escape it, even the new batch isnt likely to be the miracle cure. The next batches could be slower, id put my money on it, it seems their ability to produce closely matched quality SUCKS , I would expect smithy difference but when we get half a second difference it becomes a joke, this more recent 9 tenths (some claim more like 1sec) on dunlops is beyond a joke, it is wrecking the racing and does affect peoples racing budgets when you have to constantly go searching for the best, which usually means spending double what you intend !!!!!!!!
