That's what those in the karting business (and those touting for them) would have you believe.
It's not rocket science to come up with a formula to make racing equal and more to the point cheap enough to be accessable. But there are too many people with a vested interest in making lots of money from racers for it to happen.

The whole principle of SP engines flies in the face of any sort of sporting principle. Can you imagine any other sport where you could OPENLY use your cheque book to gain an advantage. It happened recently in swimming with special suits which were very quickly banned.
