It appears to me that the 2011 Regs contradict themselves in the context of valve seat cutting. They appear to limit the cutting to two angles but refer to the Honda workshop manual which specifies 3 angles.

Nothing wrong with only using only the 30 degree cutter to bring back seat width, but this is at odds with what Honda recommend.

In theory this could mean that some engines become retrospecively illegal as previously the only reference was to the Honda workshop manual and consequently I for one have always used 3 angle cuts in the past.

But I could be wrong.
