There is no novice attached to a kart clubman licence, i am talking now to Llandow who are the control club as to the best way of making sure that we do not have any drivers who are a danger to themselves and other drivers if they are on a clubman licence
What we think will happen is that if a driver can be "cleared" by a recognised team manager ie Howard Lucas or supplier ie 7 kart / MS / pro kart engineering etc as a qualified driver ir experienced endurance driver, then no problem he can join the grid as per normal. If he is a novice and little or no experience then he will start at the back of the grid until officials and COC pass him as clear to join the main grid, the maximum starts at teh back of the grid will be 6 as in MSA regs.
If on practice day a driver is seen to be unsafe who has a clubman licence but claims to be a cleared driver he will be put to the back of the grid, if he decides to leave the challenge because he is not capable enough he will be given his registration fee back - at the First meeting only. (please note this is not as yet confirmed but is what i feel is required)
I can also confirm that i have managed to get the rules changed for the licence and a kart clubman CAN run on the same grid as a national A or B licence.
As for weight, i am only concerned at the moment with the drivers who have registered with the challenge and i am in email contact with discussing it now and i will post later. I hear a lot of talk about drivers coming into the challenge and also comments from people who are not even driving, if you want to be involved in discussions for the weight then please register, ideally i would like 2 weights 175 and 180 but only if there are enough drivers in each, who wants to be in a class with 2 others when everyone else is in the other weight class ??? we still have time to get this right so register and have your say or i will make a decission and that will be final.
